Does this help explain the issue? There may have been version differences. It shows that the Realtek and Etron were "already present". This is the screen shot of the creation of the recovery media. Possibly a conflict between the built-in PE5 support and the Etron USB3 drivers could account for it if the latter are also included in the PE5 build.

It can indicate a wide range of issues including such things as lack of disk space or a driver trying to load a second time. Based on the OP and your own post, however, the more likely culprit appears to be the USB3 issue. The driver load error 0x80070103 isn't really very specific. So, if your system was trying to load audio driver support during the boot process, it wouldn't find any. It has certainly never done that in my own experience.

I would not expect the Reflect "wizard" to include any audio device drivers in any of its WinPE builds. That Realtek audio issue may well be a significant part of the issue. 516 which is what I eventually used for the restore. On the other hand, if you are actually requesting some explanation of the problem that you experienced prior to the updates, we'd need to know whether your WinPE build was based on PE3, PE4, or PE5 and what device drivers were copied to it from the host system.
Since you say that you were able to restore an image after the BIOS and driver updates, I'm guessing that your response here was intended primarily for information. My board is a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 Revision 1.3 Socket 1155 for Intel Z68 After updating, I was able to restore an image taken with Reflect V 6.0.516 from a 120GB SSD to a 256GB SSD and boot without any problems. my bad for not checking years ago, but everything had worked until last weekend. The BSOD error was STOP 0x0000001E Based on a tip from someone else, I subsequently updated my BIOS (which was noted as necessary for USB 3 support) and quite a few drivers, one of which was an Etron USB 3.0 driver from the Gigabyte site.

The restores completed apparently without error but when I booted into Windows 7Pro SP1 64bit the desktop came up for a few seconds, there was a high pitched 'whine', then the screen went very messed up, then the BSOD. I had BSODs last weekend related to Realtek audio and Etron USB 3.0 drivers when trying to both clone and restore an image to a larger drive. Have you tried PE5's built-in USB3 support without installing those Etron drivers?

No solution.Hello All, Does anyone know a workaround on how to make this drivers work ? Every time I try to restore an image from a USB3.0 drive at some point I get a blue screen and the process stops. I have tried countless reinstallations of drivers, ive even formatted and flashed the BIOS. Plug the adapter in, and plug them into the USB2 header, everything works fine. Same goes for USB3 USB keys, mice, phones, etc etc. When the Front USB ports are plugged into the USB3 header on the mobo, they receive power, because you can charge your phone from them etc, but no "data" connection seems to be established because Windows doesnt recognize any device attached. My brother has the EXACT same mobo/case setup and his work fine, so its not a compatibility issue. I thought initially that it was a issue with the case, so Corsair replaced the front panel for me.but it wasnt the issue. If I plug the USB3 to USB2 adapter in, the front ones work, but only on USB2. The problem is that my front USB3 ports dont work. however I doubt any of the rest is relevant. I have a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD4-B3 mobo (F10 BIOS), in a Corsair 500R case.
